About Chinese YMCA Bridges Street Centre
Built in 1918 as the first headquarters of the Chinese YMCA of Hong Kong, this six-storey building of red brick and concrete has a symmetrical front facade. When it opened it had the city's first indoor swimming pool with warm water and the first elevated timber running track, and the pool, track, gymnasium and auditorium are all still there. It was declared a monument in 2023 and is still a working YMCA centre.
