About Former Liaoning Main Station (Old North Station)
A station building completed in 1930 and opened in 1931, designed by the architect Yang Tingbao, which served as Shenyang North Station until a new station replaced it in 1988. Its symmetrical façade has a central arched hall flanked by three-storey wings, mixing classical and Chinese features, with a rectangular square in front. The railway still uses it for offices, but it was restored in 2017 with some exhibits upstairs, and a steam locomotive and a carriage have been placed beside it.
