About Nanshan Cultural Tourism Zone
A large modern Buddhist-themed park on the coast west of Sanya, built around Nanshan Temple, founded in 1998, and the Guanyin of Nanshan, a 108 m statue (including its base) on an artificial islet that was consecrated in 2005. The statue has three faces, one looking inland and two out to sea, and the grounds also hold gardens, further statues and a longevity theme taken from the saying 'long life like the Southern Mountain'. A longevity festival has been held here since 1999.
How to get to Nanshan Cultural Tourism Zone
In Yazhou district, on the coast about 33 km west of central Sanya; Da Xiao Dongtian is about 6 km further west.
