About Temple of Yan Hui
A temple to Yan Hui, the favourite disciple of Confucius, in the north of Qufu's old town; the buildings date from the Yuan to the Qing, with the present layout set in the Ming dynasty. The central of its three parallel axes of gates, halls and courtyards leads to the main Fusheng Hall with its carved dragon pillars, and a pavilion over a well marks the humble lane in which, according to the Analects, Yan Hui lived. Stelae from the Jin, Yuan and Ming dynasties stand in the courtyards, and the temple is a separate site from the main Temple of Confucius, Kong Family Mansion and Cemetery.
