About Rulong Bridge
A timber-arch covered bridge in Yueshan village, rebuilt in 1625 according to an inscription on its ridge beam, which makes it the oldest known timber-arch covered bridge in China with a precisely dated rebuilding. Its single woven-timber arch spans 19.5 m and carries a nine-bay gallery 28.2 m long. It is the best known of the 25 Chuzhou covered bridges that share its national listing across Lishui, and the woven-arch building technique is on UNESCO's list of intangible heritage in need of urgent safeguarding.
