About Pingle Ancient Town
A market town on the Baimo River at the foot of the Qionglai Mountains, a settlement since the Western Han and traditionally counted as a stop on the Southern Silk Road. Old banyan trees line the riverbanks, two-storey timber shophouses face stone-paved lanes, and the Leshan Bridge, a multi-arched Qing-dynasty stone bridge, crosses the river. It is one of China's listed historic towns.
