About Qing'an Guildhall

A temple to the sea goddess Mazu that doubled as the guildhall of Ningbo's northern-route shipowners, completed in 1853 on the east bank of the river at Sanjiangkou and since 2014 part of the Grand Canal World Heritage Site. It is unusual for having two opera stages, and is richly decorated with carved stone dragon columns, brick reliefs and red-and-gold lacquered woodcarving. The halls house the East Zhejiang Maritime Folk Museum, with models of Chinese ships through the ages.
