About Chaoshan Scenic Area
A low hill on the plain north-east of Hangzhou, famous for centuries for its plum trees and made popular by poets and artists in the late Qing and early Republican years. Around the Damingtang hall at its foot are the Song Plum Pavilion and the tomb and memorial hall of Wu Changshuo, first president of the Xiling Seal Society, and paths climb past the Miaoxi and Yuxi temples to a 'stone forest' of rocks on the summit.
