About Houtu Temple, Jingsheng

A one-courtyard temple dedicated to Nüwa, standing in farmland west of Jingsheng village, founded in 1266 and rebuilt in 1304. The offering hall and the three-bay main hall are Yuan buildings: the square offering hall has an elaborate caisson ceiling under a hip-and-gable roof, and the main hall has a front veranda. The gate, with its stage, and the flanking buildings were rebuilt in old style after modern concrete structures were removed.
