About Jinlong Bridge
Jinlong Bridge is an iron-chain suspension bridge across the Jinsha River between Qihe in Lijiang and Zili in Yongsheng, built in 1876–1880 and long an important crossing on the Tea Horse Road between Lijiang, Yongsheng and Sichuan. Sixteen iron chains of about 500 links each carry its 138-metre plank deck, with two more as handrails, between stone abutments topped by gate pavilions. Because the site lies in a hydropower reservoir's flood zone, the bridge was rebuilt in place about 6 metres higher, a project completed in 2016.
