About Weishan Lake
The 5A scenic area covers about 77 sq km of Weishan Lake and its shore in Weishan County; the lake is described as the largest freshwater lake in northern China. It takes in Weishan Island, a stretch of the Grand Canal and the Weishan Lake National Wetland Park, where egrets gather in a bird forest in the evenings. Lotus beds flower in summer, and fishermen on the island have traditionally kept cormorants for fishing.
How to get to Weishan Lake
In Weishan County at the southern end of Jining prefecture, about 100 km south-east of Jining city centre; Weishan Island is about 20 km south-south-east of the county town.
