About Daochang Hill Prayer Inscription

A Yuan-dynasty rock inscription on Daochang Hill on the southern edge of Huzhou, recording prayers for a good harvest by the darughachi, the Mongol overseer of the prefecture, and one of very few dated Yuan carvings of its kind in Zhejiang. It lies in a hollow east of Wanshou Temple; the hill, long counted among Huzhou's beauty spots, is crowned by the seven-storey Duobao Pagoda, first built in the Northern Song and restored in 1987–88.
