About Langyatai

A coastal hill in the south of the West Coast New Area where, according to the Records of the Grand Historian, Qin Shi Huang stayed for three months in 219 BC and had a terrace built. Excavations since 2019 have uncovered a T-shaped rammed-earth platform of about 45,000 m² on the 183 m summit, with a stair of hollow bricks decorated with dragon patterns, rooms below the platform and drainage pipes. It was listed as a national heritage unit in 2013 and named one of China's top ten archaeological discoveries of 2025.
