About Hongluo Temple
A large Buddhist temple at the southern foot of Hongluo Mountain, by tradition founded in 338 and rebuilt many times, which became a leading centre of Pure Land Buddhism in northern China under the Qing masters Jixing and Yinguang. Its halls are laid out in several courtyards on the hillside, surrounded by an old pine forest, with Hongluo Lake to the south.
