About Huiyan Peak
A 97 m hill in Yanfeng District, traditionally counted as the first of Mount Heng's 72 peaks and the source of Hengyang's nickname 'Wild Goose City', from the old belief that geese flying south turned back here. The hilltop park has the rebuilt Yanfeng Temple, first founded in the Southern and Northern dynasties, the 35 m Huiyan Pavilion, and a small memorial hall at Wang Fuzhi's birthplace on its western slope.
