About Yangtze River Crossing Campaign Memorial Museum
A memorial museum opened in 2012 on the north shore of Chao Lake about the People's Liberation Army's April 1949 crossing of the Yangtze, which ended with the capture of Nanjing. The complex runs from Liberation Square through the 44-metre-high main hall, built leaning forward at 49 degrees, past a group statue of the General Front Committee to Victory Square and a 99-metre victory tower. The rating also covers the neighbouring Anhui Celebrities Hall.
