About Wenyou Terrace, Gaoyou
A group of halls in the north of Gaoyou that began in 976 as a temple to the god of Mount Tai. Its name, 'Terrace of Literary Outings', recalls a gathering in 1084 when Su Dongpo, passing through, met the Gaoyou poet Qin Guan and the scholars Sun Jue and Wang Gong here to drink and talk about literature. The core of the site is a provincial heritage unit and one of the traditional Eight Views of Gaoyou.
