About Tiankeng Difeng (Xiaozhai Tiankeng & Tianjing Gorge)
A karst area in Xinglong Town made up of Xiaozhai Tiankeng, a vertical-walled sinkhole more than 500 m deep whose name gave geologists the term tiankeng, and Tianjing Gorge, a narrow slot canyon some 37 km long. A long staircase descends into the sinkhole, beneath which an underground river runs, and the area lies at around 1,200 m with cool summers.
How to get to Tiankeng Difeng (Xiaozhai Tiankeng & Tianjing Gorge)
In Xinglong Town in southern Fengjie County, about 1.5 hours by road from the county town. Check that it is open before going.
