About Yanhua Pond

A garden in the centre of Chongzhou that began as a Tang-dynasty official's garden and took its form in the Song, when the magistrate Zhao Bian dug the pond and the poet Lu You, who held office here, wrote about it. The buildings are mostly Qing rebuildings. The 3.5-hectare site combines the pond garden, a shrine to Lu You and the town's former Confucian temple.
