About White Cloud Temple
The leading monastery of the Quanzhen school of Taoism, founded in the Tang dynasty and rebuilt around the tomb of the Quanzhen patriarch Qiu Chuji, who travelled to meet Genghis Khan in 1222. It remains an active Taoist temple and the seat of the China Taoist Association, with courtyards of halls and shrines leading to a rear garden, and its Spring Festival temple fair draws large crowds.
