About Anji Old City Wall (Ancheng)

The stone-faced walls of the former Anji prefectural and county town at Ancheng, north of present-day Anji, described as the most complete prefecture- and county-level city walls left in Zhejiang. Begun as an earthen rampart in 1356 and faced with stone a year later, the peach-shaped circuit survives almost whole with its west, south and north gates, and still encloses a village.
